White wool blanket with a plaid design in colorful stripes.

This is a traditional woven "Maragato Blanket" made with pure virgin sheep wool.

This sofa or travel blanket is made with 100% virgin sheep wool, all processed in one place and by one family making this a truly sustainable and local product. This was all designed and made - even the fringe is twisted by hand one by one - by Gaspar's family.

They always work with neutral colors that come originally from wool and add colorful tones like the one we have here, creating a funny yet classical sofa throw.

Textile craft in León (Spain) goes back to the XVII century when you could find up to 80 textile artisans in this village until the XIX century when there was a deep textile crisis in Spain. The maragato crafters had to mechanize their production to be able to compete with the rest of the world.

By 1858, maragato blankets were among the most appreciated blankets in Europe and these tiny village weavers still use the traditional wool combing technique they used back then known as “hollow-fiber”, which means that in the fiber there is trapped air that offers natural insulation resulting in extremely warm blankets.

Diswasher safe. High fired earthenware creates a glazed surface that is durable and easy to
clean. But for the durability of your earthenware, we recommend hand washing, only with mild soap and
never scratchy or abrasive powdered cleaners.

Microwave and freezer safe. The thermal shock resistance is high but it is not
suitable for use in ovens. It is guaranteed to withstand temperatures only from -20oC to 120oC. This
earthenware should not be put directly over a direct flame or burner.

Food safe. All products contain no lead or cadmium.

      Considerations

Please have in mind all our pieces have been handmade or handcrafted using natural materials. Most artisans still keep centuries old tools, so changes in colours, shapes, measurements, finishes and textures can occur due to their artisanal nature.
