This hand-painted caravel motif is ubiquitous in Portugal. This stenciled caravel or ship was retrieved from popular ceramics from the XIX and early XX century, Jorge and Maria re-edited the stencils to use again, recovering a piece of popular art.

All our mugs are hand-painted by Jorge in their Aveiro Studio, both sides are painted, one shows a caravel or ship and the other some flowers, rim and bottom are painted in Portuguese blue.

Care instructions

All our pieces are 100% merino or 100% lambswool with no other fibres.
Please wash carefully in mild water with a splash of ammonia or using the wool cycle of your washing machine. Never tumble dry. Wool is self cleaning, just shake it periodically and place outisde on a sunny day, you can also brush to get that new look again.
To keep it away from moths, place in a plastic bag, and close tightly. If you are in Spain and wish to give your blanket an thoroughly cleaning and brushing by the same people who wave these, please let us know so we can arrange it.
