This is a realistic reproduction of a ceramic sardine.

We carry two colours, blue and grey, as each sardine is made individually each one is different. Changes in colour, shape, eye colour, scale position, glazing... can vary. These sardines are 16 cm x 2'5 cm or 6.3 inches x 0'8 inches.

These sardine reproductions are made in a small village in Almería by José Miguel who is in front of the last pottery of the town, which was the main village of the area for this trade. This village is in the Tabernas desert, the only natural desert of Europe which amazingly borders the Mediterranean Sea, this is where José Miguel gets all his inspiration. While the traditional motifs are flowers, roosters, and geometric patterns, José Miguel sourced his inspiration and combined traditional and contemporary design. We created more pieces with him you can see in our shop.

These sardines are designed to lay flat, the bottom is not glazed and has the stamp of the artisan which is an índalo (an Iberian symbol).

We offer wholesale.
