In Almería you feel like you've stepped into another planet and another time. A rough terrain, the only desert in Europe actually, cacti, Sierra Nevada mountains with snowy tops, and then, the Mediterranean Sea.

We work with several potters from the area but especially with José Miguel and Carmen. They have their pottery in a small village perched on a cliff above a valley.

With deep Moorish roots, this village once was home to 26 potters but there are only them left now. Almeria's pottery is easily spotted by their color and fearless approach to decorative ceramic in contrast to the sobriety of their surroundings.
