¡Hola!
This is Alexandra, the person behind El Consulado.
It all started with a cookie box, this box led me to a small village home of merino wool weavers and then my natural curiosity led me to more artisan workshops.
As a History graduate the management of cultural heritage information and resources, the research and the dissemination of knowledge was something I knew and recognized, soon I started to understand the tradition, processes, materials and problematics of each artisan, piece, trade and place.
My main goal with El Consulado is to contribute in a small way to spreading the knowledge and craftsmanship of each artisan intertwined with history and sustainability.
We travel to the artisan, understand their processes, the tradition, the history and we always deal directly with them.
That is why our pieces have a name and a surname.
